James and I were in Philadelphia visitng his brother Matt and Matt's wife Alison the weekend before Thanksgiving. Originally we were going to Philly because I was going to run the marathon and James was going to run the half marathon, but due to my still-strained-piriformis muscle, and James' bout with a serious head cold, we both sold our bibs (to a high school friend of James' and her boyfriend...found via Facebook...will wonders never cease!) and just enjoyed the weekend relaxing with Matt and Alison.
James came home to NC with me for Thanksgiving and we had maybe the funnest Thanksgiving I can remember ever having. Being the sweetest guy alive that he is, he went to enormous ends to make all sorts of goodies for my family ahead of time. Here are pictures of him baking cookies, pumpkin bread, and he also assembled some of the coolest gift baskets I've ever seen in my life (though sadly I didn't get pictures of those).
I'm getting to come home a lot for the weekends since I'm back on the east coast now! In fact, I'm very excited to be heading home this weekend to see friends and family one more time before Christmas. Christmas is going to be a lot of fun, but will be decidedly busy, as I'm flying to Indianapolis on Dec 23rd, spending Christmas Eve with James' family, and then Christmas Day we're getting up bright and early and driving down to NC to spend Christmas Day night with my family, then the 26th, and head back to DC on the 27th. Then James will be in DC until around January 8- yay!
I think that brings everything up to speed...my next posts will feature fun stuff I find on the internets!!!
