Snow in DC!!

Well folks, it is what you would call SNOWING here in our Nation's Capital!!! The snow started falling around midnight last night, and this morning I woke up to a solid 4 or 5 inches.  BUT...it has been snowing progressively harder and harder ever since.  Here are some pictures I took probably around 10:30 AM this morning:

My car, Wanda Shambourd the Honda Accord:

My apartment complex:

My lonely little Mum (all my other plants were moved inside a long time ago..but I figured the Mum was going to die anyway so I just left her outside). Bear in mind this is underneath an overhang:

Another view of my apartment complex:

And HERE are some pictures I took recently, around 2:15 PM. We've officially had about 9 inches so far in the DC area, and it continues to snow harder and harder as the afternoon progresses.  Around 11:30 AM I was watching the news and the weatherman said, "Where ever you are at 12 noon on Saturday, plan to be there for a very, very long time."  Most everything is closed - including Reagan Nat'l airport!

My car, Wanda, about four hours later (all these pictures were taken while I was standing on my balcony, so not sure if you can get a sense of how much it has snowed since the pics I took at 10:30, but MAN, poor Wanda is absolutely covered in snow!!):

And the same shot of my apartment complex:

And here's that poor Mum again...she's under an overhang remember!

And here's a shot of my feet standing on my balcony.  Amazing how much snow has just BLOWN in on my covered balcony throughout the day! And yes, those are Uggs...and I love them.

My plan for the rest of the day is go absolutely NOWHERE, stay inside, and maybe dig my car out tomorrow! I'm just going to clean and bake some cookies (which I plan to give to one of my neighbors), and watch Christmas movies!!! And talk on the phone of course...sooo if you're bored today, holler at me!!!

  1. Sounds like a great plan! We got barely 2 inches of snow but Hayden has had an awful fever so we are housebound for the weekend. Not bad, considering our busy weeks these days.
