Well yesterday I spent almost two hours shoveling my car out of the snow. I still didn't get her completely out, and my completely un-awesome apartment complex still has yet to plow our roads so even if I did get my car out, I would slip, slide, and get stuck on the sheet of ice that is our parking lot and not be able to go anywhere. I've seen multiple cars spinning their wheels this morning....it's a disaster out there!
Luckily I can work from home, and am planning to do so all week until I fly out on Wednesday afternoon for Indianapolis. Also luckily, I live within walking distance to a Harris Teeter and can take the Metro to the airport on Wednesday, so basically, I'm not driving anywhere until maybe 2010! I must admit, I'm going pretty stir crazy and, after I scrub my shower tonight (which, sadly, is something I'm looking forward to as it gives me something to keep busy), I will have cleaned every square inch of my apartment in the last two days. But...on the upside, my apartment is going to be super-squeaky clean for when Mr. Clean himself (aka, James, and yes he was Mr. Clean once for a costume party - pretty hilarious) comes up on the 27th.
Our holiday plans are as follows: I fly to Indy on Wednesday, spend Christmas Eve with his family, and then he and I wake up super early on Christmas Day and make the 10-hour drive down to North Carolina, to see my family for Christmas Day night and the 26th. Then on the 27th we drive up to DC, where he stays until about January 8th, when he drives back to Bloomington to finish his last semester of business school.
I cannot wait for Wednesday!! James is already in Indianapolis hanging out with his family....and they'vebeen playing lots of Scrabble. Here is a super cute picture of his Mom and the family dog, Maxx, last night...I think Maxx was trying to offer a few word suggestions! What a cutie...
