Christmas was awesome!!! I flew out to Indianapolis on the morning of Wednesday, Dec 23. I was actually able to move my flight up earlier in the day thanks to the craziness that DC had experienced the prior weekend - with the TWO FEET OF SNOW that came down upon us! US Airways was offering anyone who so desired to move their flight up or back 7 days with no change fees. As soon as James learned this, he called me, and I called the airlines. I tried to get on a much earlier flight but all they had was an 8 AM flight on the Wednesday (originally I was going to fly out at 5 PM) - I took it and am glad I did, because Reagan Airport even at 6:30 AM was a total circus!
Anyway, I got to Indianapolis and spent the 23rd hanging out with James and his family. We baked cookies, decorated cookies, and then went out to dinner at an AMAZING sushi restaurant. Christmas Eve we spent hanging out together, going to Mass with his family, and having a delicious dinner of Frutte di Mare (an Italian tradition on Christmas Eve...I hope I am spelling that right). Then we spent the evening opening presents! Christmas Day we hustled out of Indiana at the crack of dawn for the long drive down to North Carolina...which wasn't so bad after all as we made a ton of stops and drank a lot of coffee (which caused us to make a ton more stops than usual, if you know what I mean!)
Christmas Day night we ate dinner with my family and opened presents. The day after Christmas several of us went antiquing and that evening my little sister Sarah, James, and I baked banana bread and made lasagna for my family. Sunday we went to church with my Dad and Stepmom and had lunch with everyone, then headed up to DC around 2:30 in the afternoon.
I've put an album of Christmas pictures up here on Picasa. Please check them out!!! There were so many fantastic pictures I couldn't put them all here in the blog, so I made a whole album of them.
Christmas was a whirlwind as we were so busy travelling BUT I'm so glad we got to spend time with both families! Wouldn't have it any other way!
