I'm in Denver all week for work. The weather is colder than it is in DC (where I hear it's in the 60s!) but let's be honest: it's not like I'm going outside so what do I care. I have walked outside twice in the last four days to go across the street and get Subway or Qdoba, but other than that I'm indoors all the time. The elevation, though, I can definitely feel - I've gone running in the hotel a couple times this week and BOY OH BOY, it is tough! I am running almost a full mile-per-hour slower than I normally do just because I have to practically gasp every breath I take. I'm hoping, though, that after a week of running in this altitude, running in DC will seem like a breeze!
Busy weekend and week coming up. James is moving to Louisville, KY on Friday and that's where he'll be living for the next 8 weeks or so while he performs as Corny Collins in the musical Hairspray. Friday night he flies to DC, and I fly to DC from Denver, and we get to see each other! Then Saturday we're driving down to NC for a very quick fundraiser my Team in Training friends are throwing, see my family for a split second, and back up to DC on Sunday. James has Washington Campus, which is a week-long class on public policy for MBA students (I did it last year) the next week, so he'll be in class all day while I'm working. Monday the 15th we're going out to dinner to celebrate James' birthday/MBA graduation/our engagement/what aren't we celebrating! with my dear friend Heidi. Tuesday is James' actual birthday (he'll be 28...he loves asking me "what it's like to be 28" since I am an "expert" because I have been 28 for 7 months now...smart aleck!). Then on Friday the 19th he hops on a plane and flies back to Louisville. THEN he starts Hairspray rehearsals bright and early on the morning of March 20! Wow, busy busy busy!
We still do not have a wedding date. We're trying to work out the details with the venue sites, and between one convention and the next, we can't get the number of hotel rooms blocked off at the Indiana Memorial Union (where we tentatively want to have the reception...it's also a hotel which makes it super convenient), so we're going back and forth with them to try to work that out! Will update as soon as we know.
Gotta run and get back into our sessions....bye for now!
