Signed a lease!

I signed a lease this week for an apartment in Alexandria, Virginia! Here is the apartment complex: www.foxchaseofalexandriaapts.com. It's the same apartment complex my friend Heidi used to live in when she first moved to DC. I'm excited because I have a balcony with full sun for all my lovely plants (some of which are in NC with my parents and I miss them already!!) and my particular unit is right beside the running and biking trails. I'm basically moving in tomorrow and Thursday - my first night in the new apartment will be my birthday (Thurs), which I think is awesome!

For now, though, my hotel room looks like an IKEA explosion. I went there last night and again this afternoon and RACKED up on awesome stuff. Man, I love having an IKEA nearby. I can't wait to put my apartment together and post pictures! This is my very first apartment on my own - no roommates at all - and I am excited about it!!

Other big news this week....JAMES!!! My favorite bald baritone bourbon buff (say that three times fast!) is coming out to DC for my birthday. And while he will probably kill me for posting it, here is his headshot from when he was a professional singer (before coming to business school). Be sure to check out his blog, Raisin Brand, when you get a chance. No clue on what we're doing for my birthday - I think that is still under wraps, but I will let you know!

Other things that are going on right now.... I'm still on the bench as far as work is concerned. I know I'm being considered for two projects right now, but who knows where that will go.

I am also super excited about the Mixed Martial Arts match that's happening this weekend - it is the first time a female MMA match has headlined a male match. Check out this promo video:
