So far this week I did a really easy 2.8 mile run on Monday just to get a feel for running again. I find it’s easiest to get back into it with a short run, even if you’ve only been out for a week. Then Tuesday I did a 5-miler, nice and easy, but both knees were hurting so badly by the end of mile 4 that I walked the final mile entirely. This could only mean one thing – time for new shoes! So I promptly ordered my favorite shoes, Brooks Glycerin, off Overstock.com. I got the Glycerin 6’s which is the old model, but actually my favorite, because they’re a year old now and on Overstock, which means their half price than if I bought them in the store. But, now I have to wait for them to come in! Boo! So tonight I’m going to try a real short run but work on increasing my pace. Its distance that makes my knees hurt with older shoes, so I’ll keep it short. Hopefully the shoes come in tomorrow because I’m trying to pick up my long runs again this weekend!! 10-miles, here I come!
I’m actually going back to Indiana this weekend for a wedding so I’ll get to see James again!!! Also super pumped about seeing one of my best friends in the whole wide world, Jessi, since her and her husband Caleb live in Bloomington. They recently bought a house and are remodeling the you-know-what out of it, so I can’t wait to see all the progress they’ve made!!
Other than that, things are STILL slow at work. Still on the bench, I’m afraid. I have been volunteering for proposals, which is good but stressful since proposals are done with a very quick turn-around. I also was put on an internal project for my team, which is nice. But still hoping and praying that I’ll land an actual project pretty soon!
Here is a picture of these AWESOME curtains I bought at Pier 1 with a gift certificate my friend Heidi gave me for my birthday. They are super loud and gaudy and I LOVE them!! The color doesn't really show up in the picture since I took the picture with my cell phone camera, so here is a link to what they look like on the Pier 1 website. I got them at the Pier 1 outlet so they were pretty cheap, plus James found curtain rods at IKEA for $6, so it was a bargain to be sure. Please excuse all the moving boxes still in the picture… I am still working on setting up my apartment!
